Microsoft Bing’s captures more market share
Microsoft's search engine Bing is going great guns. The search engine has continued to grow its market share in the month of February too. Bing's market share in the US search market has gone up from 11.3% in January, 2010 to 11.5% for February, 2010. And like before, this time again Bing's gain is Yahoo's loss.
Yahoo, which is the number two player in the search market, has fallen from a 17% market share in January, 2010 to 16.8% for February, 2010. In the past too, Bing has grown on the back of eating into the market share of Yahoo and trend seems to be going on for now.
Google, the leader in the category, has also faced a slight fall in its share of the search engine pie. Google's market share in US has fallen by 0.1% from 65.5% in the month of January to 65.4% in February 2010.
The number four position was held by Ask. com which has again fallen slightly to 3.7% market share as compared to 3.8% in the previous month.
AOL, the number fifth player, was able to hold on to its market share of 2.5%. On an over all basis, the US search market expanded by a significant 10.4%.
