Mexico to drop photo of Madrid mayor''''s air-kiss from anti-flu ad

Mexico to drop photo of Madrid mayor''''s air-kiss from anti-flu adLondon, November 14 : Authorities in Mexico have recalled an anti-swine flu health campaign after picture of Madrid''''s mayor Albert Ruiz-Gallardon kissing the cheek of the President of the Madrid region, Esperanza Aguirre, unknowingly featured in it.

The posters and fliers, circulated across the state of Hidalgo in central Mexico, had a black cross over the politicians’ image and the slogan: "Don''''t greet people with kisses."

Miguel Angel Osorio, from the Hidalgo regional government, has clarified that it was a mistake.

"We were not aware of the identities of those pictured. Now that we know, we are deeply distressed and have recalled the campaign,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

He added: “An investigation will be launched to discover how this error was allowed."

The irony behind the picture is that the two kissing leaders are rival politicians, who openly fought over nominations for the new chairman of Madrid''''s savings bank. (ANI)
