Mercedes may launch its A-class in India

Mercedes may launch its A-class in IndiaThe luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has a strong relationship in the Indian market as the company wasn't only the first luxury carmaker to enter India in a full-fledged way but also played a major role in establishing the luxury car market.

Peter Trettin, president and CEO of Daimler, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia recently confirmed the fact that the company may launch its a-Class in the Indian market sooner than expected. The company is aiming to launch the much-awaited A-Class in the couple of years to come.

While the company is aiming to price it below the counterparts, it will be the entry-level product after C-Class in the Mercedes Benz portfolio. Experts are of a view that the product should be priced in the range of 16-20 lakh.

There have been talks of launching the A-Class in the Indian market for over a decade now but the company has been delaying its launch for many reasons.

Similarly, BMW has also delayed the launch of MINI in the Indian market. Notably, experts believe the fact that an expensive entry-level car may not be that popular in the Indian market is the fear that the automakers are suffering through.
