The print media has boycotted Mahendra Singh Dhoni after he kept the press waiting for over an hour for a conference, after the ODI match was decided in favor of Sri Lanka on Sunday. While he kept the media waiting, he was spotted playing football with his team members at the Rangiri Stadium.

As per the standard procedure, the captains of the two playing teams are obliged to address the media within 30 minutes of the prize distribution ceremony.

Before this, India had seen its worst ODI defeat in terms of the number of balls remaining for the opposition where Sri Lanka won with 209 balls still remaining.

Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara, came in first to the media and said regarding the issue of the debate on certain umpiring decisions in the match that some decisions are in favor while some are not, which is why technology should be made use of more.

He also said that referrals should be used in both Tests and ODIs, adding that India is the only country who has opposed the referral system.

However, the football match had ended at 7.15 p. m. and Dhoni ultimately addressed the media at 8.45 pm.
