Maruti Suzuki on the top of consumer’s list
While the reports claim that the company may face severe competition from the launches happening in the A2 segment, but the domestic market leader, Maruti Suzuki has once again proved the critics wrong by showing the smoothness of its journey in the Indian market.
The company filed an increase of around 30% in the domestic circuit for the month of April 2010 in the Indian market. The company explained in a statement that it sold 93,058 units in the last month which is around 29.6% up from the 71,748 units that the company sold during the same month last year.
While its journey in the domestic circuit has been more or less smooth as it sold 80,034 units from 64,857 units in April 2009, filing an increase of 23.40 per cent, the exports segment witnessed a growth of 89% as the company exported 13,024 units from 6,891 units in the year-ago period.
The company further added that since the Maruti 800 is longer available in the 13 major Indian cities, its sales fell by close 3% but the other models in the small car segment are enjoying the confidence of the Indian consumer.
