Maruti Suzuki all-set to launch A-Star by mid-Nov

Chennai: Country’s leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), will launch its much-awaited ‘A-Star’ car in mid-November. A-Star would be rolled out from the company’s plant at Manesar.

The car will be powered by a new K-series engine and will also have a low-weight three-cylinder aluminium next-generation engine. The company hopes that A-Star would give a stiff competition to its rival car models like Hyundai i10, Tata Indigo CS. The car will come in three variants and will be price around Rs 4 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

The launch is a part of the company’s Rs 9,000-crore investment plan for India. The company enjoys a 55 per cent market share in the A2 segment. With A-Star the company also plans to re-enter the European market.

The company had earlier launched Swift, Sx4 and Grand Vitara in India.
