Maruti Suzuki all set to Manufacture KB engine at New PlantMaruti Suzuki, the leading car maker in India has launched a new plant for manufacturing fuel efficient petrol engines. The company is all set to produce some 240,000 engines annually in the production unit. The Kb series 998cc A star engine has been designed to be environmentally friendly and fuel efficient with its light weight construction and innovative technologies to improve combustion and minimize friction.

Managing Director of Maruti Suzuki, Shinzo Nakanishi stated, "The new engine series is also an important step towards attaining the target sales of a million units in the domestic market by 2010/11."

After successfully launching 'A Star' in India in October the company plans to start export by 2009. Furthermore, the KB series engine shall also be used in the other models of cars which the company is manufacturing in the next 3-5 years. Mr Nakanishi also added that the company shall increase its fleet of engineers to 1000 from the present number of 570 by year 2010.

The engine which fulfills the future emission norms in the country and also the Euro V norms is all set to conquer the automobile industry.
