Maruti Modifies SwiftTo give more competition to its competitors, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is all set to launch its new modified swift. Since Maruti swift was launched in summer, within few months, the car became a great hit among the consumers.

Seeing the popularity of the car, the company planned to modify swift and finally on 17 August, they have decided to launch the new model in the Indian market. However, the car has already been launched in Japan and Europe last year.

The company officials announced the new model was entitled as the ZDi model and as compared to the old version, the new Swift would be having six variants as it had been modified with 15 inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, push button start, electrically adjustable outer rear view mirrors and turn indicators on the rear mirrors. Therefore, the prices of the new Swift would be Rs. 30,000 higher than the current version.

The fuel tank had also been modified, as the new model would be having a lighter weight plastic tank and the company claimed that the fuel efficiency would be increased by 15%.

IV Rao, Managing Executive Officer (engineering), MSIL stated, “The new Swift would be bigger and would also offer more space. It would also have all new interiors which would be the best in class which would reduce the previous customer complaints”.
