Maruti to bring in A/T A-Star

Maruti-Suzuki-a-starThe country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has recently said that the company is planning to launch the automatic version of the A-Star in the Indian market by next week. While the company is doing so in a bid to strengthen its position in the Indian market, it is believed that the product will take on the automatic version of the i10 from Hyundai.

Maruti Suzuki India chief general manager- marketing Shashank Srivastava said that the company will soon launch the automatic version of the A-Star in the Indian market as the company believes that the consumer is now accepting the automatic models due to the rising congestion on the Indian roads.

However, Srivastava declined to share the price of the AT variant of the A-Star, saying it will be decided next week. It is to be mentioned here that the A-Star is currently available between Rs 3.59 lakh and Rs 4.23 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It may be noted here that the automatic A-Star will be the second automatic model from Maruti as the SX4 AT variant is priced at Rs 8.33 lakh, compared to the normal version tagged between Rs 6.91 lakh and Rs 7.67 lakh (ex-Showroom Delhi).
