Markets Slip On Profit Taking; JP Asso, ACC SurgeThe Sensex shed some of its gains owing to profit booking witnessed at higher levels. Real estate, auto and banking shares remained up while capital goods stock witnessed selling action.

At 12.01 p. m., the Sensex, which belled the day on a flat note at 17,458.76, gained 44.81 points to trade at 17,505.39. In the meantime, the broad-based Nifty surged 19.60 points at 5,249.70.

The BSE Mid and Small cap indexes exceeded their larger counterparts after surging 1.00% and 1.50% respectively.

The real estate index gained 59.32 points at 3,626.58, Auto index surged 83.72 points at 7,679.81 while the Capital Goods index lost 56.67 points at 13,969.81.

The IPO index stood at 2,100.58 after surging 1.27%. The top gainers included Adani Power, ARSS Infra, Aqua Logistics, Anu`s Lab and Greenearth Resources and Projects.

The major gainers in the 30-share index comprised JP Asso, which gained 2.75%, Tata Power up 2.23%, ACC up 1.94%, Hero Honda Motors up 1.64%, HUL up 1.58% and DLF was up by 1.58%.

The top losers in the 30-share index were Sun Pharma, which declined 1.71%, L&T down 0.99%, Sterlite Ind fell 0.75%, BHEl dropped 0.46%, Infosys decreased 0.18% and RIL was down by 0.12%.
