Markets Bullish, Sensex Crosses 14K Level

The Sensex, which continued to trade in the positive terrain since morning, has Markets Bullish, Sensex Crosses 14K Levelcrossed the mark of 14,000 on the back of sustained buying action witnessed in Realty, IT, power, oil & gas, banking and metal stocks. 

Midcap and smallcap index surged more than 2% each.

The 30-share index, BSE Sensex, which gained 448.23 points during the opening time, ended positively on Thursday (Sep 18) after making a gain of 52.70 points, while the NSE Nifty climbed by 29.90 points. 

At 2.59 p.m., the 30-share index Sensex stood at 14,051.41, up 735.81 points, after hitting a high of 14,068.28 and a low of 13,674.96. 

On the other hand, the broad based Nifty gained 193.80 points at 4,231.95, after touching a high of 4,249.85 and a low of 4,040.80. (02.59 p.m.) 

Overall market breadth was positive. Out of the total 2,640 stocks traded at BSE, 1,886 advanced, 692 declined while 62 remained unchanged. 

Biggest gainers list included DLF (9.75%), Satyam Computer Services (9.70%), ICICI Bank (8.88%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (7.57%), Infosys Technologies (7.32%), and Bharti Airtel (6.80%). 

There were no losers at the 30-share index.
