Man arrested for carrying weapons in Washington
Washington, Mar 11 : The United States Capitol Police have arrested a man who was driving around in a vehicle with two long guns, three handguns and a sword near the Capitol on Tuesday.
Politico quoted a USCP spokeswoman as saying that the driver of the vehicle has been charged.
The subject has been identified as 49-year-old Timothy Whitfield of Long Beach, California. Whitfield has been charged with carrying a pistol without a license, possession of unregistered ammunition and possession of unregistered firearm.
The Capitol Police released a statement, which said, " At approximately 2:20 pm today, a driver approached a U. S. Capitol Police officer for directions at Third Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was deemed suspicious and the driver was detained for further questioning. He was arrested without incident and transported to USCP headquarters for processing."(ANI)
