Mamta demands return of Singur Land

Mamta demands return of Singur LandTrinamool Congress Chief Mamta Banerjee has set Dec. 2 as deadline for West Bengal Government to return the un-utilized land at Singur to farmers.

"If the government does not return the land to the farmers by December 2, potato, and cucumber and vegetables cultivation will begin as the farmers will have to survive," Mamta said.

Addressing a rally at Singur Mamta said that she along with other party leaders would begin token cultivation of vegetables on December two and thereafter farmers on a mass scale if the land was not returned by then.

On the other hand the TC chief opposed the proposal of the state govt. to invite a Chinese Automobile company to Singur and demanded for a global tender for the whole matter.

"There should be transparency and accountability in the tender to be floated for selecting industry in Singur," she said.

Earlier the West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattecharjee told that his govt. is planning to set up different industries at Singur.
