Mahindra Holidays draws expansion plans

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited (MHRIL) is planning to double its Mahindra Holidays draws expansion plans inventory in this fiscal. The company is planning to invest 3.5-4 billion rupees for the expansion of its leisure hospitality business. Mahindra Holidays is a subsidiary of automobile firm Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. The company may opt for acquisitions, construction of new properties and expansion of existing properties to complete its investment plans.

The chairman of Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited, Arun Nanda said that the company is still in profit despite adverse global financial conditions. The company is doing good business and has not seen any slowdown. It has set a target to increase its room capacity to 1,500. The company would introduce 500 more rooms at Pondicherry, Coorg, Binsar, Kumbhalgarh and Ashtamud resorts in this financial year while 250 rooms would be added in the next year. 

MHRIL would also acquire the 'Taj Garden Retreat' at Thekkady in Kerala.
