Machine To Detect Cancer By Smelling!
British researchers have fabricated a machine that can “smell” cancer.
Brainchild of academics at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire, the Breathotron notices chemical alterations in a patient’s inhalation, which medical doctors said could indicated they have a tumour and provide an earlier judgment than is possible currently.
Study lead researcher, Professor Hugh Barr stated that this is an important development that could significantly influence the method cancer is diagnosed in the coming time.
“Instead of using our eyes, the Breathotron allows us to use an ‘enhanced nose’ to try to sniff out the early stages of cancer,” Prof. Barr added.
The discovery follows medical research papers, which reasoned out that cancer cells give off an odour. (With Input from Agencies)
