L&T Oman Unit Pockets Rs 518.2 Cr Orders
Larsen & Toubro, India's largest maker of equipment for the nuclear power sector, has announced that its Oman unit has bagged three orders worth Rs 518.2 crore for execution of power transmission and infrastructure related projects in that country.
In a disclosure to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the engineering and construction company said that it has bagged a Rs 207.4 crore order from the Rural Areas Electricity Company for construction, engineering and procurement of power substations. The project will be executed in 18 months.
The company bagged another order worth Rs 206.1 crore from the Oman Electricity Transmission Company for construction of power grid station. The company has to complete this order within 15 months.
Apart from these two orders, the company has also secured a Rs 104.7 crore order from the Oman Tourism Development Company for the construction of infrastructure for the second Asian Beach games. The project will be executed in 15 months.
Moreover, the company has also signed a MoU with US-based GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy for co-operation on BWR and ABWR nuclear power plants.
