LG Optimus G2 will likely be released some time in autumn

LG Optimus G2 will likely be released some time in autumn According to a new CNET report, LG will likely release its new Optimus G2 smartphone some time in autumn this year. With the report underscoring the likelihood of an end-May or early-June launch of the handset, it is quite evident that Optimus G2 will be launched almost a year after the Optimus G release.

The CNET disclosure about the probably launch time-frame of the LG Optimus G2 smartphone would apparently prove to be a dampener for the speculations making rounds about an earlier release of the handset.

While some rumors in the recent past had hinted at the smartphone's unveiling at the recently-concluded CESA event; others had voiced the possibility of the handset's announcement at the forthcoming Mobile World Congress which is scheduled to be held in February.

However, the reported `autumn' time-frame for the launch of LG Optimus G2 implies that LG will probably be able to equip the handset with the latest iteration of Google's Android OS --- that is, Android version 5.0 `Key Lime Pie.' Such a possibility stems from the fact that Android `Key Lime Pie' devices are likely to hit the markets by autumn this year.

Meanwhile, with the Optimus G2 to reportedly boast a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD screen and a quad-core CPU, it is also being rumored that though the handset may likely be launched in `autumn,' LG will possibly release a stop-gap smartphone - also featuring a 5.5-inch screen and a quad-core processor - in the interim period.
