Lata Mangeshkar has excelled in all genres of music. She has a God gifted melodic voice, and has turn into an Institution in her own right.

After recovered almost fully from her knee surgery, living legend Lata Mangeshkar will be back to recording studio by next month.

Before that the 'Nightingale of India' will take part in the death anniversary event of her father Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar.

Lataji said, “I recently got the Radio Mirchi lifetime achievement award. But I was unable to attend. They very kindly came home and gave it to me. But attending the function for my father is something I'd never want to miss.”

She will attend the function Friday in Pune.

Some of the distinguished artistes will be honoured with the awards during the event for their outstanding contribution to society.

Moreover, cops who fought terrorists on 26/11 will also be honoured with trophies during this year’s event.

While giving thanks to all the music composers who had been waiting for her recovery to record her songs, she said that she become too choosy these days about her songs.

But at the same time, she added that language is not a barrier anymore.

"I was always choosy about what I sing. Now I've to be even more particular. The language of the songs doesn't matter. It could be Hindi, Bengali or Marathi. But I've to be convinced about singing them," Lata said.
