Lady GaGa ‘determined’ to shrug off comparisons with Madonna

Madonna makes Cannes debut as filmmakerLondon, Jan 23 : Lady GaGa wants to shake off comparisons with Madonna, as she aims to create her own image.

"It's not a bad comparison but I want to be respected as an artist in my own right," The Sun quoted Lady GaGa, as saying.

"Bowie, Prince and Grace Jones were all famous for their style and fashion, so I think it's a tradition pop stars should maintain," she added.

She also wants the world know that she believes in girl power, as she claims to be the voice of a new generation of Girl Power.

"When John Lennon was talking about Yoko Ono he used to say that women possessed a wisdom that no man could have," the crooner said.

"At certain points in history women always rise. Pop is historically a female sport and women are winning all the gold medals at the moment," she added. (ANI)
