L A Galaxy to block Beckham plans to play England friendlies
Los Angeles (US), Mar. 10: England mid-fielder David Beckham has been told to forget playing any friendlies for his country by L A Galaxy.
The club is already paying the price for their timeshare deal with A C Milan, which sees Becks return in July for 13 of the 30-game MLS season.
According to The Sun, they are anxious to keep the England ace for every match possible, which means forbidding any extra travel back to Europe in the summer.
Galaxy boss Bruce Arena will speak with the FA to ensure Becks is left out of friendlies against Holland on August 12 and Slovenia on September 5.
He warned: “I’ll ask for David not be called up. It’s not necessary for him to be there for a friendly and I’ll contact the FA.
“David’s happy to come back — and his addition will be positive for us.” (ANI)
