Kiran Bedi says PM Modi trying to unite, awaken country
New Delhi, Oct 3 : Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's maiden radio address to the country, social activist Kiran Bedi said here on Friday that the Prime Minister was uniting and awakening the whole country.
"What I see the Prime Minister doing is that he is bringing trust back into leadership. He is bringing the Indianness back into India. He is uniting the country, he is awakening the whole nation. What I noticed is that Prime Minister is trying to bring back positivity from negativity and converting cynicism to hope," said the former IPS officer.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "Today, the Prime Minister as a guardian of the country has addressed the country through the medium of radio, reaching almost 90 percent of the people, which is phenomenal."
Congress leader Rashid Alvi, however pointed out, "Ever since he has become the Prime Minister, he has shared the thoughts in his heart. Now, I think there is no work to be done for the country except giving speeches."
In his maiden address to the nation on Friday through the medium of radio, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to adopt khadi products and pay special attention to cleanliness.
Expressing his happiness over being able to reach out to such a large number of people, especially the poor, through the medium of radio, Prime Minister Modi said, "Today is the start. In future too, I will keep talking to you on the radio. It will be on a Sunday at 11:00 am."
