Jordan, Kuwait discuss security cooperation

Jordan MapAmman - Jordanian Interior Minister Eid al-Fayez and his Kuwaiti counterpart General Khalid al-Sabah on Tuesday discussed the prospects of boosting bilateral and Pan-Arab security cooperation, particularly in combating terrorism and violence.

"The Interior Ministries in the two countries have achieved a big stride in bilateral cooperation particularly in the spheres of security, police, exchange of information and training and we look forward to further coordination" al-Fayez said.

He said the Kuwaiti minister's two-day visit to Jordan had the aim of "reinvigorating Arab security cooperation in facing emergency developments".

"The discussions are designed to enhance Pan-Arab security integration and explore means of enhancing joint Arab security efforts," al-Sabah said.

He underscored the importance of cooperation among Arab security establishments in "combating terrorism with all its various forms and quelling attempts aimed at undermining stability in the region". (dpa)
