JK: Terrorist apprehended in Baramulla, encounter underway

Srinagar [India], Nov. 25 : The Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday apprehended a local terrorist in Baramullah district, where a massive encounter is underway.

A gunbattle broke out between terrorists and security forces in Tujjer village of Sopore here today following which the security forces cordoned off the area.

Two terrorists are reportedly holed up in the area, and one was arrested after security forces turned up their efforts to smoke them out.

Meanwhile, in a separate ongoing encounter, two terrorists have been neutralised and an Army jawan has been killed in Bandipora.

Troops of 45 Battalion of CRPF along with 13 Rashtriya Rifles and the state police carried out a cordon and search operation during which an encounter broke out with militants today morning.

Two AK, one UBGL and other ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.
