Jindal meets Orissa CM for mega projectJindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) announced its ambitious plan of setting up biggest steel plant of world in Orissa. Jindal Steel is all set ready to commission first phase of its 6 mtpa steel project by March, 2012. Company's managing director and Vice-chairman Naveen Jindal had a meeting with Orissa CM Naveen Patnaik.

He revealed media about details of meeting. Jindal said "The capacity of the proposed 6 mtpa steel plant will be expanded to 20 mtpa in next 10 years. This will be the biggest steel plant in the world". Company is willing to be a victim of any rehabilitation movement. Jindal said company is committed for proper rehabilitation of the natives. According to Jindal, CM raised concern for rehabilitation of affected people, to which he demonstrated company's plans.

Company will commission steel plant of 2mtpa in first phase. For this company has already invested Rs. 10,000. Jindal also told media persons that company has placed orders for next round of investment worth Rs 5,000 crore. Jindal said that company has plans of increasing capacity to 6 mtpa by 2013.

Company will be investing Rs. 1,10,000 crore in the next 10 years. Of this, JSPL is likely to invest Rs. 45,000 crore to Rs. 50,000 crore in steel sector and Rs. 50,000 crore in CTL plant. CTL is company's proposed Coal-To-Liquid plant. About belonging to opposition party, Jindal said nobody ignores him for that reason.
