Israeli citizen held in EgyptCairo, March 11 - The Egyptian authorities Sunday arrested an Israeli national for sneaking into South Sinai governorate, security sources said.

"The Israeli man, identified as Gabriel Abu Shlomo, 29, did not have any identification papers or a passport," reported Xinhua citing the sources.

Abu Shlomo travelled from Israel's Eilat to the Egyptian city of Taba and crossed the boarder Saturday evening.

The arrestee admitted that he had intended to visit the grave of Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira, a Jewish holy site, in Damanhur city of Egypt's Beheira governorate and then immigrate to Morocco, the sources said.

"The investigation unveiled that the man is a drug addict," the source added. (IANS)
