Internet Traffic reaches 21 Exabytes per monthCisco System's CTO at the CTIA conference, Padmasree Warrior witnesses the growth of internet traffic in coming few years down the line, both on wired as well as wireless networks.

Warrior said that the growth is stupendous and "global flow of information" has grown from 5 exabytes per month in 2007, to 21 exabytes per month this 2010, and it is expected to touch 56 exabytes by the end of 2013.

In case of consumer internet traffic which has seen arise from 38 exabytes in 2007 to a massive 180 exabytes this year, and is expected to cross the mark of 486 exabytes in three years from now. It is believed that the videos have been the key factor for driving this traffic to this level.

At present the 500 million connected devices across globe and has grown 35 billion and is expected to rise even further. Also with the rise of smartphone industry the internet traffic surge has seen a rise.
