Injured Petersen doubtful for third test
England star batsman Kevin Petersen has been doubtful to play in the third test match of the Ashes series due to strain which he received during the second test match at the Lords as informed by the England captain Andrew Strauss on Wednesday.
Petersen suffered a muscle strain during the second test match and he was unable to field in rest of the match which was won by England to take lead in the series by 1-0.
Strauss said that Kevin has been going through rehabilitation process and they would have to watch his recovery progress in next few days.
He added that they want to include only those players in the squad for the third test match who could last all the five days of the match and medical staff would tell them about the fitness of Kevin.
Meanwhile, a relief for the England fans has been that the all rounder Andrew Flintoff, who had announced to retire for test cricket after this ongoing series, has been declared fit for rest of the matches of series.
The third test match of the Ashes series will be played at Edgbaston which is scheduled to begin from 30th July.
