Indo-ASEAN below potential, says S&P
While commercial relationship between India and other regions seem to be becoming normal. The same can not be said about Indo-ASEAN relations. That is what the recent survey published by Standard & Poor's (S&P).
In its report, S&P has said that the increase in trade and investment between India and the trading block of Asia is falling way below its full potential.
Close co-operation between the two, however, will correct the situation in the coming future. The report further added that the fortunes of South Asia and South East Asia will be determined by the relationship that develops.
The commentary titled, "Leveraging the Potential of Indo-ASEAN Economic Cooperation Is Key to Sustaining Regional Growth" is written by Roopa Kudva, the managing director and region head, South Asia, S&P.
Kudva added, "We believe that it is imperative that Asian policymakers and market players look for ways to capture the latent value of the Indo-ASEAN relationship."
