Indica gets CR4 engine
After the announcement of extremely fuel efficient car for Passat for Indian market by Volkswagen, Tata Motors is all set ready to launch extremely fuel efficient variant of its economy car in India, Indica. According to various reports, car engine will be BS IV compliant. Company official said in a media meet that new variant of Indica will be most fuel efficient and eco-friendly in its class.
Indica is a popular hatchback in India. Newly launched version, Indica Vista is getting good response. According to company, the new engine package will be 32% more powerful than current version.
It is also said that it will introduce 65 percent increase in torque. The most sell-able aspect with the new engine is its fuel efficiency. It is said that new engine will be 46% more fuel efficient. This will be diesel engine. It will have 70 PS power @ 4000 rpm and it delivers 140 Nm torque at 1800-3000 rpm. Experts believe this CR4 engine is a small car version of Tata DICOR engine.
Tata Motors has included several additional features along with new engine to car. In this car, company has introduced state of the art interiors and exteriors. With this engine, Indica will become country's most economic car. Previously, Tata Motors launched Indica V2 Turbomax with BS IV compliant engine in August, 2010.
