Indian Stock Markets Gain
Indian Stock Markets opened strong on Tuesday. The markets lost significantly in yesterday’s trading session amid worries of slow down in Japan. Markets opened strong today and have lost after first hour of trading. At 11.20 am, BSE Sensex was trading with a gain of 165 points at 18318. NSE Nifty was at 5333 with a gain of 59 points.
Major gainers in today’s trade included Suzlon Energy, HDFC and Sun Pharmacueticals. Suzlon was trading up by 6.24% at 334. HDFC gained over 4% in early trading session.
Banking major ICICI Bank was among major losers. The stock was trading at 1248 in early trading session. Bajaj Auto was also trading with a marginal loss. The stock was among major gainers on Monday. Maruti and Dr Reddy were among losers on BSE.
US economy may be heading for a recession and global markets show weak sentiments. Major US stocks have lost significantly during the first trading month of year 2008. Indian stock markets have been very volatile in past two weeks. Investors are advised to stay away from intraday trading. However, some stocks can be bought at lower levels for long term.
