Indian envoy calls on Koirala

India Nepal FlagKathmandu, May 22 : India’s Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood called on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday.

Sources said the meeting focussed on the evolving political situation in the country, including a brief on political parties failing to reach a consensus on the formation of a new government.

Ambassador Sood has been having consultations with leaders of various parties in a bid to end the deadlock regarding the formation of a new government.

According to sources, Sood was informed about the initiatives taken to reach a consensus and also floated proposals for understanding.

The Indian envoy also informed Koirala about the lifting of a ban imposed by India in the supply of cement and clinker to Nepal. (ANI)
