Ind-Swift Group enters education sector; plans to spend Rs 1000 crore

Ind-Swift Group enters education sectorPharmaceutical major Ind-Swift Group has announced its foray into education sector by unveiling its plan to invest Rs 1,000 crore for setting up health care, medical and technical institutions in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana respectively, with in the next 4 to 5 years.

The company’s objective is to provide world class holistic education to meet industry demand for fully trained and skilled professionals.

Initially, the group would spend over Rs 200 crore for setting up a school of pharmacy, providing education in aerospace engineering, hotel management and mass communication in Punjab in a phased manner.

Recently, the company has acquired 40 acres of land at Rajpura in Punjab, where it would build its School of

Pharmacy. Under its School of Pharmacy, the company would run a 4-year degree programme in B.Pharma, approved by All India Council of Technical University. The institution will be affiliated to Punjab Technical University.

The Ind Swift Group further informed that it would set up a healthcare education centre in Himachal Pradesh, for which the company has already submitted its proposal to HP government for starting courses in healthcare and medical tourism.
