Imtiaz Ali’s film has British blonde playing Saif Ali’s girlfriend

In an untitled film directed by Imtiaz Ali, the character of Saif Ali Khan’s love interest is being played by the British actress Florence Brudenell-Bruce, Flee as she is popularly known.

The film, which also has Deepika Padukone in a lead role, is being co-produced by Saif.

Flee was shooting for the film in Delhi recently, and was also spotted at the fashion week in the capital. She has updated her knowledge of Bollywood films by watching flicks like Race, Om Shanti Om, and Guru.

Flee, who was Formula One racing driver Jenson Button’s girlfriend for two years, followed up on news about how she landed the part in the Imtiaz Ali film. She said: “I had met Imtiaz in London while the audition for the casting was going on. I had gone to audition for the part of Saif’s girlfriend. When I went there, I hit it off with Imtiaz immediately.”

After just two auditions Flee got a call from the film’s producers, confirming that she had bagged the role.

Speaking about herself, the 22-year old Flee said that she is a former student at top school Woldingham, and has also worked as a fashion model. The actress, a face of John Lewis swimwear brand said: “I’ve been a model for four years in London. I also act there.”

So far as her association with India is concerned, Flee said: “My brother lived in India for a year about four years ago, and I love the country. Now, I love Bollywood too! I would love to do more movies here.”
