The Oscar of Bollywood has started in the Sri Lanka. The 11th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards will take place in between 3rd of June to 5th of June at Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. This event has been eagerly awaited by Indian film fraternity as well as IIFA fans.

This year the people of Sri Lanka will also visualize this grand event. The award function has been the talk of the town. This is going to be the biggest public entertainment event in the country's history. However, this year's has been most controversial then ever. It has to calm several issues before the start of the function.

Tamil groups in India have protested against India and the function. But at last it is a relief for the IIFA organizers that the event has started in style. This time Bachchan's family is not going to take part in this event. Amitabh Bachchan has been the brand ambassador of IIFA. So as Shahrukh Khan has informed that he is going to miss the function due to busy schedule.
