ICC fines England for slow over rate

ICC fines England for slow over rateThe International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed fine on England for slow over rate in the second test match of the Ashes in which England registered a historic win by 115 runs against Australia after 75 years at Lords.

The entire England team will have to pay 10 percent of their match fees as fine, while the skipper Andrew Straus has been fined 20 percent of his match fees.

Match referee Jeff Crowe fined as England was short by two overs from their target in the allotted time at the end of the match on Monday, after all the time allowances were taken in to the consideration.

According to ICC regulations, which govern over-rate penalties, the entire team would be fined five per cent of their match fees for every over short from the target in the allotted time, while the skipper penalized with double of that amount.
