It turned out to be yet another weekend of disappointment for the Tamil film buffs as none of the new releases proved to be good. With three Tamil films: Karunaas’ ‘Ambasamudaram Ambani’, S. A. Chandrasekhar’s ‘Veluthu Kattu’ and Mumaith Khan’s ‘Pournami Naagam’ hitting the screens on Friday (July 2), most of the shows were empty while Bollywood’s ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ made a great opening with the multiplexes screening additional shows.

On Thursday night, AGS Royal Cinemas hosted the red carpet premiere show with Kollywood celebrities - Vasanth, actors Nanda, Vaibhav, Premji, Vasanth Vijay, Srikanth, Music directors Thaman, Devi Sri Prasad, Singers Naresh Iyer Chinmayee, Vijay Yesudas, Bhavatharini and many others taking part in it.

Tickets for the paid previews were sold out within a short span of time and the film is being watched by non-Hindi speaking audiences as well. Moreover, the theatres screening Manirathnam’s Hindi version ‘Raavan’ have been replaced by IHLS.

‘I Hate Luv Storys’ features Aamir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles with ‘Kutty’ fame Sameer in a prominent role.
