I Am Scared Of Calling Myself A Star, Says Anushka Sharma
Actress Anushka Sharma has proved herself in the Hindi film industry with her super hit flicks like Band Baaja Baaraat, Rabb Ne Bana Di Jodi and others.
The UP-born, Bengaluru-bred actor, who entered the film industry with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi 3-years back, has come a long way, and is considered as a successful star in Bollywood.
She also said that the grand success of Band Baaja Baaraat has brought many changes in her life.
She said, "I think after BBB, people are viewing me differently. I am being seen as a bankable actor. I have received lots of appreciation and feeling more comfortable in the industry."
"I am scared of calling myself a star. I never will. I guess that is something for people to decide. I just go on the sets, do my work and get back. It doesn't matter to me whether the film's poster and publicity plans give me importance or not."
The 22-year old actress also said that she is not comfortable with the wealth and high end designer goods that her fellow workers possess.
Even though 3 films old, Anushka said that that she still finds it hard to purchase an expensive thing, which she can afford now.
"I bought a high-end bag and had to think a lot before buying it. I come from a middle-class family. I am high street shopper. I don't like to shop from high-end designer as I don't understand those clothes. I used to demand for such things and my parents have always told me that I can have one when I start earning as they couldn't afford to buy me one," she stated.
The actress also said that some of the things possessed by celebs are too costly that they equivalent the cost of an EMI of an average Indian's house loan.
"I don't think people should value themselves by the possession they have. I am 22 and I earn well but I work very hard for it. There are times when I work for 20 hours a day and I don't meet my friends and family often. I have made these sacrifices because I like what I am doing," she added.
Anushka is pleased that her loving parents always backed her decisions.
Her forthcoming flick 'Patiala House' with Akshay Kumar will hit screens on February 11th.
