Hunting is not only a controversial activity, but a hot topic of debate too. Hunting can be carried out for different reasons ranging from sport, commercial purpose or for cultural reasons. Like there are two sides of coin, opinions of people on this topic is divided as some find it wrong and others do not see any problem in it.

To cite an example, Trophy hunting available in 23 sub- Saharan African countries, leads to around US$201 million per year.

Not all the nations taking part in this particular activity have high levels of transparency. Experts said that magnifying glass has been put on hunting on the continent due to the types of animal hunted and also because of rise in illegal activities.

Owing to these issues, authorities concerned adopted a restricted approach to hunting in Africa. It has been noticed that changes in demographic and economic trends are making resources to be used more quickly, which includes a rise in illegal hunting and landscapes being degraded.

Experts have affirmed that there is a need to have right laws and regulations. It has also been noticed that when it comes to conservation, there is no one uniform approach. History has proved that hunting can play an important role in conservation and to prove beneficial for neighboring rural communities.
