Huawei makes it to the Bharti vendor listAccording to a major announcement made in the Indian market, the largest telecom operator in India in terms of revenues, Bharti Airtel has recently said that the company has added Huawei to its vendor list for the 3G process. It is to be mentioned here that via this deal, the company has tried to end its dependence on western vendors.

For the record, names like Switzerland; s Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Network from Finland have been the top vendors of Airtel for the past many years. While Ericsson manages the operations of Bharti in the 15 circles, Nokia Siemens is responsible for the rest of it.

It may be noted here that India in total has close to 22 telecom circles as of date. In its announcement made recently, the company said that it has signed Ericsson India, Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei Technologies as the partners for the effort to launch 3G services in India.

It has been learned from the sources that the Chinese equipment maker will provide 3G equipment to Bharti in 3 circles. It is believed that the total contract for the 3G services will be matching the tune of $700 million.
