HP Trims Its Touchpad Prices
According to reports, immediately after the launch of TouchPad tablet computer, the Hewlett-Packard company officials declared the device prices.
Moreover, after the announcement, company officials claimed that from now, the device would be valued at$400 for a 16-gigabyte model and $500 for a 32-gigabyte version, which was found to be$100 less than comparable iPad 2 tablets.
However, the reports also asserted that besides all these cuts, Apple continues to dominate the iPad category as the most recent quarter figures affirmed that till date, with over $6 billion already banked by the sales.
On the other hand, HP officials also accounted that for all the customers, who had bought the device, before the official declaration of the cut, the company still offered a $50 credit.
In the meantime, talking about the cuts, Chris Christopher, IHS global insight economist quoted that the first round figures, which were released on Friday, Michigan University’s consumer index sentiment was recorded with a drop down of 54.9% while the other analysts had expected a decline to 62%.
Talking about the same issue, he proclaimed that since May 1980, the current reading was recorded to be the lowest.
As a result, job growth and wild swings in the stock market got prompted.
