With promises to keep, the HP Slate is expected to be sold for $540 by June this year, said industry reports.

It is proposed that Slate is going to be the costliest version in touchpad platforms, for the beginners.

Supposed to be a better offering than iPad, HP has ruled out all the possibilities of lowering its prices.

The price is something which is in accordance to what the Spanish site, Clipset had said about it. It had forecasted that the Slate will run around at 400€, which is approximately $540 in terms of present exchange rates.

The official release, as the site asserts, should be in the month of June making a debut in Europe before September.

The feature part, which the rumors say, contains Intel Atom processor, which is a USB port. It also has a memory card reader and has an integrated camera on the rear. Needless to say that it contains features like Flash and Windows 7.

With the current propositions at hand, it is believed that Slate as a product will give value for money.
