Mexico City - A man took hostages on a plane late Sunday at the airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, television reports said.

The BBC reported that up to 140 people were being held.

A reporter with Radio Jamaica told CNN that officials on the Caribbean island would not confirm reports that the pilot of the plane scheduled to fly to Canada had been shot and killed. (dpa)
