Honda up with another Superbike
After witnessing impeccable response to its superbikes in the Indian market, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India (HMSI), the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto giant Honda Motor Corporation, is working on a plan to launch another companion to its superbikes range in the Indian market by the end of the current calendar year.
The sources in the company confirmed the development as the company is planning to launch he 2010 VFR 1200F in India by December, almost a year after the product was launched in the international markets.
Though, there have been no clarity on the price of the model, but experts suggest it to be close to Rs. 16.5 lakhs in the Indian market.
It is believed that the model will be launched as a completely imported unit from Japan, similar to its other products in the segment and keeping in mind that it will attract a 110% import duty, it will double the price tag of the model that costs close to around $15,999 (Rs 7.51 lakh) in the United States, the largest superbike market in the world. The model will be a twin-seater sports bike from the door of HMSI.
