High demand…long waiting period

High demand…long waiting periodThere are many young executives who are facing a similar situation of a long waiting period on their dream car in the Indian market. Fortuner, for instance has been running with a waiting period of 4-6 months while the company has stopped taking bookings for the product since January.

In fact, there are many marketing heads in the domestic circuit who complain of getting calls from several ministers and MLAs to fasten the delivery process but as they say, they cant do anything much about it.

Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director (marketing) at Toyota Kirloskar Motors said that the company doesn't want its consumers to wait for long but it can't help it as they still don't have enough production capacity.

However, Fortuner isn't the single case in point as Swift, Swift Dzire and Eeco are some models out of the portfolio of the market leader Maruti Suzuki that see long waiting periods in the Indian market. In fact, similar is the case with GM's Beat and Cruze.

Clearly, it is a case of a high demand against the product that also brings a longer waiting period for the product.
