Hero MotoCorp Ltd Plans to Expand Overseas
The Hero MotoCorp Ltd reveals about its plans to benefit from its expansion in the international market and increasing demand for its vehicles in India. The Company has spelled about its targets to achieve an increase in its annual income up to $10 billion and increase its two-wheeler sales up to 10 million units a year in the next five to six years.
The Company launched its sales unit in London and has revealed that it expects to incur at least tenth of its total income from the sales in London. Hero MotoCorp Ltd is India's biggest scooter and motorcycle manufacturer, reveals its revenue earned in the financial year 2010 that ends in March amounting to 194.01 billion rupees ($4.3 billion). The Company sold 5.4 million two-wheelers during the year, out of which 133,063 were sold in various parts of the world.
The Company aims to grow and establish its hold in the international market by establishing 30 units in Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America. It aims to achieve a sales target of one million from the two-wheeler segment through this expansion, reveals the Chief Executive of Hero MotoCorp Ltd, Pawan Munjal.
As per Mr. Munjal, "We are enhancing our research and development set-up, hiring the best talent, and exploring opportunities for collaboration with international design houses and technology supplier".
