HCL Technologies has signed a deal with Electrolux to provide IT services for next five years to the Electronics major. The deal shall also provide a couple of other favourable points for the success for technology services company HCL.

The deal which is extended over a period of five years will involve delivery of IT Infrastructure management services for Asia-Pacific operations of Electrolux.

The benefits shall be dealt with as first being infrastructure management services deal, it shall be billed at higher rate than any other deal which shall relate to traditional application services.

The deal also provides for the revival of IT spends which the company is making and it shall add in almost 20 per cent of overall revenues to HCL. Also the deal shall involve client operations in 12 countries and shall be carried out from India and Malaysia. This would bring in cost efficiency & reduction for the company operations.

Earlier HCL Technologies has shown a 20.5 per cent fall in their consolidated net profit for continuing second quarter ending December 2009.

The net profit at Rs 296.7 crore was much below the analyst estimates and the sentiments of investors were hurt greatly. This resulted in the fall of company's shares by almost six per cent on the BSE to Rs 361.1 in January'2010. It is also believed that HCL is expecting to pay more importance to its outsourcing and offshoring businesses.
