Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), leading private engineering construction company, has registered a huge fall of 72.35% in its net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2009.

During the reporting quarter, the company has clocked a net profit of Rs 55.15 million as compared with Rs 199.44 million for the similar quarter year ago.

However, company's total income in the said quarter surged by 15.97% to Rs 7,839.12 million from Rs 6,759.84 million recorded during the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2008.

The company has posted earnings of Rs 0.18 per share during the quarter, registering a dip of 76.92% over previous year period
