The company affirmed that no data on its customers, programs or employees has been affected by a “significant and tenacious” attack on its information technology system.

The company detected the attack on May 21 and its security team worked sleeplessly to fight the hackers and protect data from theft. Lockheed Martin and the US government confirmed the repot on Sunday and eh company assured that its systems remain secure.

The website of PBS show "NewsHour" was hacked and altered by hackers over the weekend. The hackers posted a fake article claiming that rapper Tupac Shakur, who was murdered 15 years ago, was alive in New Zealand. The login information used by stations and other entities on PBS sites were also published by the hackers.

The attacks are the latest in a series of security breaches reported worldwide. Last month, Sony’s gaming systems were hacker and attackers were able to access user details of about 100 million uses.
