Government to announce financial package for SMEs.

Ashwani KumarSmall and medium enterprises (SMEs) are all set to get government's assistance in the wake of ongoing world economic crisis. Government may offer financial help at low rates for increasing growth of small scale industry.

Union Minister of State for Industry, Ashwani Kumar assured representatives of industry associations that government is committed to help SMEs as it provide 95 percent labourers of the organized sector. He said that he would convey their grievances to the prime minister-constituted apex group. The apex group is aimed to address the problems faced by the industry. Union minister directed the officials to prepare government's response on industry demands within 15 days.

He discussed the problems of Small and medium enterprises with 40 representatives from 21 industry organizations. They demanded financial package at low interest rate from the Union Government besides revision of anti-dumping policy. They also demanded fiscal incentives and revision of tax structure from the government.
