Google Unveils Internet Television Plan
Google Inc. has made announcement about its plan to roll out "Google TV", a search technology, which will offer up a simple and speedy method to navigate to TV channels, internet sites as well as applications, all on televisions.
The California-based company made this announcement on Thursday during a meeting in San Francisco, where more than 5,000 software programmers participated.
The company said that it will sign up a deal with Sony and Logitech to place Google TV inside televisions, Blu-ray players and companion boxes.
"Google TV" will consist of Google software comprising Android and Chrome Web browsers, a Sony television with an Intel microprocessor and a special remote control and wireless keyboard from Logitech, Xinhua reported citing a statement released by Google.
The reports said that the new product will hit markets later this year. (With Inputs from Agencies)
